About imo
imo is a free app for messages, voice calls and video calls. It is popular in South Asia, the Middle East and Africa, and works well on slower connections.
imo uses a phone number as your account, so it sends a code when you sign up. A separate number lets you use imo for work or for a second contact list without sharing your personal number.
How imo sends the code
imo usually sends a code by SMS to the number you enter. If the SMS doesn't come, it may offer a phone call; our numbers receive SMS only, so wait for the SMS.
When the imo code doesn't arrive
- The number already has an imo account, so the app tries to log into it.
- You asked for the code several times. imo makes you wait before the next try.
- imo chose to call instead of sending an SMS. Our numbers can't take calls, so try another number.
Tip: Ask for the code once and keep the screen open. If nothing arrives within a few minutes, cancel for a refund and take another number.
How to get your imo code

- What is a Standard number?
- A number from our wider stock, with many more countries and lower prices. It works for most services. If imo doesn't send the code, you pay nothing. For apps that refuse virtual numbers, pick a country with real SIM numbers.

- United States has the most imo numbers online right now, and Morocco is the cheapest at $0.05. If a code doesn't come, cancel for a refund and try another country.
- What if the code doesn't arrive?
- You don't pay. Cancel the order, or let the number expire, and the full price goes back to your wallet.
